It’s been almost exactly a year since my last post when I announced that Jeanette and were moving to Hawaii and dropping out of society. While sitting at the beach drinking Mai Tais, we also managed to both get part time jobs at the University of Hawaii, get pregnant, secure a teaching job in Germany, and start a graduate certificate in school leadership.

I’ll try to get things here more up to speed with some photos etc., but with a baby and a move on the way, there may not be a lot of extra time for blogging. I will be on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr though, so look for brief updates there (see right column for links).

Before coming to Romania, we spent a few weeks in Hawaii with my parents. It was a great time to relax with family. My brother, Mychilo, was there for part of the time and we made the most of it, going camping, volcano hiking, and hitting the beach. There weren’t many waves, so we didn’t get a lot of surfing in, but bodysurfing in crystal clear warm water was still wonderful.
